This branch of my family are Italian, so there are some variations to the spelling of Leveria. see bottom of the page!!

ANDREA. Born 1823 in Italy. He was known to be a fine musician.

(I) JENUAR (JANE) Born 1857. Don't know where!! No Birth Certificate in London, Poss. in Italy.

Married: James Ward. Born 1859: Died 1888: No Marriage Certificate in London, Poss. in Italy. Had 3 Children: (i) Sarah B1877: (ii) James Henry B1881: (iii) Gertrude B1883:(My Grandmother) When James died Jane remarried to his best friend Frederick John Deane:

Remarried: Fredrick John Deane 11-7-1888. Had 4 Children: (i) Annie Elizabeth B1889: (ii) Frederick Henry B1891: (iii) Henry B1895: (iv) Lily Eliza. B1902:

NB. I have all details of this part of the family up-to-date!

(II) APOLLARIA (POLLY) Born 1861. Don't know where!! Married Guiseppe (Joseph) Rota in 2-9-1879. Had 3 known children: (i) Nina B ? (ii) Joannar B ? (iii) and a son in the Navy.

Nina had a shop in Hare Street, London. When she died, they all went to America. Nina had 2 children: Rose & Jennar.

(III) INANNAH (JOANNA) Born 1862. Clerkenwell, London.

Married: William Joiner 11-12-1882. Joanna had 6 children, two of the daughters were chorus dancers at the Drury Lane Theatre, London. There they met two Australian Army Officers in the First World War they married them and went to Australia to live. During the Second World War a family friend saw their names above a shop somewhere in Australia. Two possible names given were Mary and Annie for some of her children.

(IV) ROSALIND (ROSE): Born 1864. Clerkenwell, London.

Married: Charles Brooks. 12-9-1882. Register Office. St Pancras London: I cannot find any children yet!!

(V) ANDREW Born 1867. Finsbury, London. At marriage Andrew was a printer.

Married: Mary Ann Fitzgibbons. 1-2-1888. St Peters Italian Church. Islington. London. Had 2 known children: Nellie B ? & Joey B ?

After Nellie died, the family went to America. Joey worked for the Ford Motor Co.

(VI) HENRY (HARRY) Born 1869. Finsbury, London.

I have been told that Henry was a regular soldier, and that he served in all of the wars of the time, and was killed in the South African War. I have checked the Death List for this War and cannot find anything.

(VII) LAJARA (JACK) Born 1877. Finsbury, London. Jack was a fine pianist

I have been told that Jack did have a family but he kept them away from the rest. It is also rumoured that he changed his surname to either BROOKS or BENNETT, as at the time people did not like to be known as immigrants. I cannot confirm this as yet.
